Atzi Muramatsu- Composer and Cellist

Atzi Muramatsu is a Japanese composer living in Glasgow, UK. He has composed and played for E MOTION since 2011,  Between Us 2011,  Silence 2012, Red Hands Green Hands 2013/14, An Experiment 2014. 
 He studied contemporary composition under Professor Nigel Osborne at the University of Edinburgh, and attained MMus Composition in 2012. Since then his works encompassed wide range of scores that have accompanied a multiplicity of arts genres, such as contemporary dance, poetry, painting, and films. Atzi is a leading member of a contemporary string quartet 
Lipsync for a Lullaby and a regular cellist in ambitious amateur orchestras in Scotland. His commercial commitments have begun to flourish after composing the original score for ‘The Making of Long Bird’, winner of best short animation awards at BAFTA 2013. Most recently he scored music for a short film Monkey Love Experiments, 
 which was also nominated for BAFTA 2015. His field of work extends to sound design, audio recording/post-production with acute knowledge of the industry as Events Manager at Tentracks Music Subscription Ltd., and as Transitions 20/40 Administrator at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, supporting widening participation initiatives.

Joanne trained at the Dance School of Scotland, Bird College and New English Contemporary Ballet School. Whilst training she was selected to represent Scotland in the CulturAtlantic Project hosted by Gelabert/Azzopardi Dance Company, Spain and in 2010 she was awarded Dance Base's Emerging Dancer Bursary.

Joanne has worked with E MOTION since 2014, creating and performing a role in Emma Snellgrove's 'Between Us'. She has a real affinity for this work and what it has to say about women; and the creative process, particularly the generous expertise and guidance from George Mann played a pivotal part in Joanne's artistic and personal development. 

Other professional engagements: Errol White Company; Stephen Pelton; Rob Heaslip/max.IMEALLdance; plan B Creative; Underhand Dance Company; High Heart Dance; Ampersandance; Diana Loosmore; Kevin Edward Turner; Malgorzata Dzierzon; Pucko Company; and Cagoule Production’s Inhabitants at the Mapping Festival, Geneva. Film and TV credits include: featured dancer in BBC's River City trailer; new tv drama The Outlander; music videos for Unkle Bob and Zulu Winter; Belle & Sebastian international tour visuals; and dance film/installation Strange Attractors directed by Swedish film artist Marie Liden. 


Joanne is also a Cardao De Ouro capoeira student under the tuition of Professor Medusa and Mestre Papa Leguas, and performed in a new capoeira/tango commission for Mela Feste 2013.

George Mann – Co-Artistic Director George Mann is co-artistic director of Theatre Ad Infinitum and Associate Director at Bristol Old Vic. A practitioner, actor, writer and director, George trained for two years at the École Internationale de Théatre Jacques Lecoq in Paris (2004-2006) after graduating from Royal Holloway University of London with a degree in Theatre Studies in 2004. George started out performing with compagnie Le Jacquerie and Plateform Théatre in Paris, France, and worked with Gardzienice Theatre Company lead by Wlodzimierz Staniewski in Poland in 2006. George founded Theatre Ad Infinitum in 2007, writing, directing and performing in the company’s first critically acclaimed work, Behind the Mirror at the Blue Elephant Theatre, London 2007 & at Pleasance in Edinburgh’s Festival Fringe 2008. George co-devised, co-wrote and continues to perform Odyssey, the company’s 2nd piece, a sell-out hit that has toured the globe since 2009. George received The Stage Best Solo Performer Award 2009 for his one-man performance of Homer’s classic tale co-written and directed by Nir Paldi. George wrote, directed and performs in Translunar Paradise, Ad Infinitum’s 4th production, a sell-out at the Edinburgh Festival 2011 that has picked up nine awards to date and has toured to Brazil, Colombia, Bosnia & Herzagovina, Finland, Greece, Israel, Italy, Norway, the US and all over the UK.  In 2014 George wrote, directed and performs live vocals in Ad Infinitum’s 6th production, Light, that London Premiered and sold out at Barbican as part of London International Mime Festival 2015 before touring the UK. George won the National Theatre and Bristol Old Vic’s Quercus Trust Award in December 2014 and will direct a main house show as Associate Director at Bristol Old Vic in 2016/17. As well as creating theatre, George regularly runs workshops, master classes and outreach programs, examples include directing Battersea Art Centre’s Homegrown Company in Oct-Dec 2014, as a Visiting Acting Tutor at Rose Bruford Drama College, and leading Ad Infinitum’s master classes for a diverse range of participants.
